Unilever Bestfoods – Trafford Park, Food Production

Unilever Bestfoods employ the MCI Myrias Checkweigher software to record all the weight check data required by the Average Weight Legislation. They have been using the MCI Myrias software, and its forerunners, since 1995.

The MCI Myrias Checkweigher system consists of more than 20 filling machines linked to 9 weighing stations, which are networked back to a central server. This enables the line operators to carry out all the necessary full and empty pack weighings.

The MCI Myrias software is also connected to the main factory control database which allows the software to perform two important functions. The first is to automatically inform the operator what product variant is being packed on any particular filling machine. The second is to inform each filling machine of the actual tare weight of the packaging being used at that time.

The information collected by the MCI Myrias Checkweigher software is available to various other computers located in the various offices, including those monitoring Quality and Production, etc.
